Although this project will not be completed until the spring of 2022, we couldn’t wait to share this unique project. The International African American Museum’s main building is elevated and supported by pillars. The space underneath the main building is used as the main breezeway where all visitors must walkthrough. We combined Glass Fiber Reinforced Cement (GFRC) and crushed South Carolina oyster shells to create the casings for the main breezeway pillars. We are able to combine other elements with GFRC to create a unique finished product. Our team created multiple mixtures and tested each one. Our formula ensures optimal strength and durability. We have what it takes to create custom work and to innovate for tomorrow.
